Martin Cleary

Chairman & Chief Executive Officer
Mr. Cleary is a prominent, high profile health care/biotech industry executive with successful and productive experience in both established and early stage companies. He has a history of providing consistent, rapid and extraordinary financial return to investors. His background also includes broad-based general management accomplishments, and a proven track record for building successful organizations. He is widely recognized as a seasoned leader and among the strongest dealmaker and fundraisers in the industry. Since 1986, Mr. Cleary has raised over $400 million in equity and partnership funds.
Mr. Cleary brings nearly three decades of leadership and operational experience in both established and early stage biotech companies to Amarantus Therapeutics. He has a long history of consistently delivering financial returns to investors. Most recently, he served as President and CEO of Juvaris BioTherapeutics, Inc., a vaccine company that he founded in 2003. Previously, Mr. Cleary was President, CEO and Director of Genteric, Inc.; President, CEO and Co-founder of CardioGene Therapeutics; President, CEO and Co-founder of Theragen; Group Vice President and CFO of Cytogen Corp.; and Vice President of Operations at Johnson & Johnson’s IOLab Corp.
Ken Coleman

Director
Mr. Coleman currently serves as the Chairman of the Board at Accelrys Software, Inc. and previously served as lead independent director and has served as a director since 2003. Mr. Coleman is the founder of ITM Software Corporation, an enterprise software company for which he served as Chairman and Chief Executive Officer from 2001 to 2006. Previously, from 1987 until his retirement in 2001, Mr. Coleman served in various senior executive positions, including Executive Vice President of Sales, Services and Marketing, at Silicon Graphics, Inc., a computer systems company. Prior to joining Silicon Graphics, Inc., Mr. Coleman was Vice President of Product Development at Activision, Inc. Mr. Coleman is a member of the Board of Directors of MIPS Technologies, Inc., a licensor of microprocessor architecture, United Online, an internet service provider, and City National Bank, a commercial banking institution.
Gene Mancino

Director
Mr. Mancino has successfully concluded a broad range of search assignments exclusively in the life sciences industry since 1979. Clients have included international pharmaceutical corporations as well as emerging biotechnology companies. Gene is qualified to advise both development stage and fully integrated biopharma companies with respect to operational management, strategic leadership and corporate governance.
Gene’s corporate development and investment network is well established in the industry. Gene is a founding partner in the life sciences search firm of Mancino Burfield Edgerton where his practice specialty is executive management including Board Directors, Chief Executive Officer, President, Chief Operating Officer, Chief Business Officer, VP’s of Business Development, Sales & Marketing and Clinical/Medical Affairs.
Gerald Commissiong

Chief Business Officer
Mr. Commissiong is an entrepreneur, currently in the biotechnology space. In 2008, he incorporated Amarantus Therapeutics as the Founding CEO and was responsible for building the infrastructure to move its lead candidate forward for the treatment of Parkinson’s Disease. In 2007, he was a professional athlete with the Calgary Stampeders of the Canadian Football League. He attended Stanford University, graduating with a bachelor’s in Management Science & Engineering.
Vern Norviel, JD

Secretary
Mr. Norviel is a partner at Wilson Sonsini Goodrich & Rosati, where he leads the patents and innovation counseling practice. Vern has more than two decades of experience in formulating successful strategies for life science companies and the development of their IP programs. He represents a wide variety of companies, as well as venture capital firms, in areas such as therapeutics, diagnostics, nanotechnology, genomics, proteomics, and personalized medicine.
Before joining the firm in 2003, Vern was the general counsel and corporate secretary of Perlegen Sciences, Inc., a start-up biotechnology company that scans the entire human genome for important therapeutic and diagnostic products. Previously, as senior vice president and general counsel, he was an early employee of Affymetrix, the biotechnology company that pioneered and developed DNA chip technology. He also had been a partner at Townsend and Townsend and Crew in Palo Alto.
During his career, Vern has authored or prosecuted more than 15 patents that have been litigated in the United States and abroad, and has overseen intellectual property lawsuits throughout the world.
